Liposuction is a cosmetic operation and it is a minimally invasive surgical procedure that removes unwanted fat in specific areas of the body called stubborn fat, fat is removed through suction technique and it is an excellent way to get the ideal body that cannot be gained through diet or exercise Sports only, and it is not a weight loss procedure, the removed fat contributes to improving the shape of the targeted area and you will not lose a significant amount of weight from this procedure.

What are the target areas in liposuction?

Liposuction is a surgical procedure to reduce the volume of fat in a targeted area of the body. It is especially useful in stubborn areas that do not respond to diet and exercise.

  • neck
  • chin
  • gynecomastia

Liposuction has been shown to encourage adherence to healthy lifestyle changes because weight gain after it may affect the reappearance of previously removed fat deposits.

This procedure will not improve the appearance of sagging skin, nor is it a treatment for cellulite. Cases with elastic skin end up with elegant results. However, if you suffer from sagging skin due to the natural aging process or pregnancy, or if you are obese and losing a lot of weight, it must be performed. Some additional procedures such as tummy tuck, arm lift in conjunction with liposuction. to achieve the best results.

Therefore, good candidates are:

  2. After that, your plastic surgeon performs liposuction by making small incisions that are not visible.
  3. Then the plastic surgeon will inject a saline solution into the targeted area to prepare the area for liposuction to reduce bumps and swelling.
  4.  After an acceptable period of time, the swollen result becomes effective. The surgeon will place a thin cannula in a small incision. The cannula is connected to a suction device and a tube that performs the operation. However, if the surgeon wants to inject fat elsewhere, a syringe will be used. Small instead of a suction machine, and once an acceptable amount of fat is removed, the incision is closed.

    Recovering from liposuction

    • It is expected that there will be swelling and pain in the suction area.
    • You will wear a compression garment over the targeted area after surgery, which must be worn continuously (24/7, except for shower breaks) for a minimum of 3 weeks.
    • Bruising occurs at the point of surgery, and this generally resolves within 2 to 3 weeks.
    • You can return to work (office job) after 3-7 days, depending on your comfortable position and your doctor’s opinion, and in some cases the leave from work extends from 2 to 3 weeks.
    • You can build up to physical activity gradually 2 to 4 weeks after surgery.

Complications and potential risks of liposuction

    • It is not possible to improve the sagging skin color with liposuction.
    • Following the surgeon’s instructions is critical to the success of the surgery.
    • It is important that surgical wounds are not subjected to excessive force or movement during the healing period. Your doctor will give you specific instructions on how to monitor yourself.

    Liposuction versus tummy tuck

Abdominoplasty and liposuction aim to achieve different results, but in some cases the patient has a choice between the two options.

    • In a tummy tuck, excess skin is removed and the abdominal muscles are tightened. This surgery does not, by itself, remove excess fat.
    • On the other hand, liposuction does not tighten sagging skin.

Therefore, many people desire both procedures together for more amazing results and a sculpted body.
